The City of Lincoln City turns 50-years old in 2015. In preparation for such a one-time historical event, the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce announces the formation of a public committee designed to organize events – for each month, throughout the year - which will commemorate and celebrate 50-years of Lincoln City.

The next committee meeting will be July 10, 4:30 p.m. at Oregon Coast Community College, 3788 S.E. High School Drive.

The 50th Committee is seeking participants to help with this exciting mission. To make this truly collaborative and representative of our fair city, the committee needs representatives from every walk of life, every civic organization, any local business to help with the planning. To answer this call to action or to share any ideas for events, contact the Chamber of Commerce, 541-994-3070 or attend the meeting.

In addition, the Lincoln City 50th Birthday Committee is announcing a Lincoln City 50th Birthday Logo Design Contest. Submit your original design celebrating 50 years at Lincoln City and the Oregon Coast. The deadline for entries is Aug. 29.

The winner will be awarded $250 with recognition on all promotional material for the 50-year celebration.
