PORTLAND - Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley will hold town halls in Lincoln and Benton Counties Jan. 12.

The Lincoln County Town Hall is set for 10 a.m. at the Oregon Coast Community College Commons located at 400 SE College Way in Newport. The Benton County Town Hall is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Chintimini Senior Center located in Corvallis at 2601 NW Tyler Avenue.

Senator Merkley will update constituents on his work in Washington, DC and answer their questions and invite their suggestions about how to tackle the challenges facing Oregon and America.

“Talking directly to Oregonians in every county is a great way to hear about the issues folks want me to fight for in Washington,” said Merkley. “I urge all residents of Lincoln and Benton Counties to come and share their opinions and work with me to make our state and nation a stronger place.”

In 2008, Merkley pledged to hold town halls in each of Oregon’s 36 counties every year. He upheld his pledge in the previous four years and is continuing that commitment in 2013. Lincoln and Benton Counties will be his 156th and 157th town halls as a U.S. Senator.
