Boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15 are invited to attend the 3B Hoop Camp taking place Aug. 23 to 27 at the Lincoln City Community Center.

The camp will be from noon to 3 p.m. in the community center's gym. The cost is $50 per player, and scholarships are available.

Space is limited to 50 players. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 18.

3B Hoop Camp is about more than just basketball; it's about "helping campers reach their full potential as players and people."

"Teaching fundamental skills is a fun and positive atmosphere is what 3B is all about," 3B coordinator Brant Minor said. "Every day, players will be put through drills and then put into game situations that emphasize the skills that have been taught. Each young athlete will be asked to participate in daily homework assignments ranging from character and leadership building to understanding the concepts of hard work and discipline."

Minor has been coaching 3B Hoop Camps for six years. He earned all conference recognition and all-state status playing for Grants Pass High School, and later played Division I basketball at the University of Portland. Minor ran camps and clinics all over the Northwest as the associate director of Higher Hoops.

He has also worked camps for top college coaches such as Pat Summit and Bruce Pearl at the University of Tennessee, Mike Krzyzewski at Duke and Ernie Kent at Oregon.

Minor just finished his first season as an assistant coach at Southern Oregon University, and this summer he is coaching an Oregon Select AAU team as well as coordinating 3B Hoop Camps.

Registration is available at the Lincoln City Community Center, 2150 N.E. Oar Place, 541-994-2131.
