The Lincoln City Police Employees Association's Annual Blue Christmas will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, at the Lincoln City Community Center, 2150 NE Oar Place in Lincoln City.

Blue Christmas offers children and parents the opportunity to participate at three make-and-take craft stations, and in two games that will offer LCPD swag prizes, such as cups, magnets, stress balls, bracelets, pens/pencils, and coloring books. Each participating child will receive a passport to be stamped at all 5 stations, and completed passports will be entered into a drawing where the winner will receive a "police escort" to school on the Friday before Christmas break, complete with goodies for his/her class.

There is also a free raffle, for which each attendee will receive one ticket as they enter the event.

Refreshments of cookies, cocoa, and coffee will also be offered.

Local businesses donating to Blue Christmas include, Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant, Papa Murphy's, Lincoln City Cinemas, Pacific Grind Café, Wildflower Grill, Lincoln City Glass Center, Driftwood Public Library, Candyland Gifts, and the Lincoln City Community Center.

Organizers said Blue Christmas is a way for Police Department employees to interact with the families from the community.
