The operators of Lincoln City’s historic Bijou Theatre and the City of Linncoln City have been recognized at the Celebrate Linn, Benton and Lincoln Celebration.

The Bijou and Lincoln City received the Project of the Year Award for their partnership to create a tourism hub for the community.

"This award is a perfect example of working together with our City as a team to create a great outcome for everyone.,” Bijou owner Keith Altomare said. “We would not have succeeded without the help of local resources the City offers to businesses to grow and thrive. This 80-year-old Lincoln City institution is looking forward to the next 80 years.”

The Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments (OCWCOG), the Oregon Cascades West Economic Development District, the Oregon Cascades West Area Agency on Aging, and our Alliance partner – the United Ways of Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties - brought together more than 100 local community, business leaders, regional stakeholders, and elected officials on Sept. 13 to its Celebrate Linn, Benton, and Lincoln held in Newport.

The event offered an opportunity for community, business leaders, regional stakeholders, and elected officials to celebrate the excellence within the region.

Mike Volpe was selected as Citizens of the Region; Oregon State Credit Union as Community Partner of the Year; T Gerding Corporation received the Chair’s Award; Catherine Skiens was selected as Volunteer of the Year; and Carol Dorning honored as the Meals On Wheels volunteer.
