Raise your hand if you love getting new school supplies in anticipation of the school year. Well, now you can get some free!

Lincoln City Parks and Recreation (LCP&R) is excited to announce their first ever Lincoln City “Back to School Giveaway Party”. The event takes place on Saturday, September 12, 12:00-1:30pm in the Lincoln City Community Center parking lot. Families will receive one bag of school supplies per student and one bag of food per family. The event will also include free socially-distanced activities for children and families such as music and dancing, an outdoor obstacle course, and chalk art!

The parking lot will serve as a concrete canvas with parking spaces marked off for families or individuals to decorate with chalk art (chalk will be provided). There will also be a sidewalk chalk obstacle course for children to enjoy. The event ends with a super fun, socially-distanced dance party, led by LCP&R staff and volunteers. Per the governor’s orders, LCP&R asks attendees to follow safety guidelines and wear a mask.

No registration required – just show up! Please note that we have 150 bags of school supplies, and 100 bags of food, 1st come, 1st serve.  LCP&R would like to thank TLC Credit Union, the Albertson’s Foundation, the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln City, Lincoln City Safeway, Lincoln City Outlets and Newport Walmart for helping make this event happen.

For continued updates on all of LCP&R activities, please follow the Lincoln City Parks and Recreation Facebook page, visit, or call 541.994.2131.
