Barbara Lay

October 15, 1946 - January 29, 2019

At the age of 72, Barbara passed away at her home, surrounded by many family members.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Anita and Robert Henarie. At the age of 12 her family moved to Toledo, Oregon. She was the oldest of 4 children.

She graduated from Toledo High School and ultimately worked for the US Forest Service and then for the Bonneville Power Administration.

Her passions were sewing, reading, craft projects, and travel. More than anything, she loved spending her time with family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Henarie.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Mel Lay of Lincoln City, OR; daughter Joelle Brown (Edward) of Amboy, WA; sons Patrick Long (Shelley) of Battle Ground, WA and Steven Long (Heidi) of Amboy, WA; sisters Beverly Johnson (Steve) of Tigard, OR, and Mary Henarie of Toledo, OR; grandchildren Hailey, Russell, Matthew, Chelsea, Jacob, Lacey, Jenna, Tucker; many other cousins and nephews and a niece.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Lincoln City, OR on February 7, 2019 at 10 a.m. Her burial will be held in Enterprise, OR., February 8th at 1 p.m.
