Jack Dean Sutton

Sept. 1, 1927 – June 1, 2019

Jack was born in Oretown, OR. to Mildred (Scherzinger) and Ralph Sutton. He attended Neskowin Grade School, Nestucca High School and then Lewis & Clark College.

In 1948, he married Dorothy (Albrecht) and they raised 4 children while Jack was employed as a cheesemaker, a logger, a dozer operator, a lineman and assistant manager at United Telephone.

In 1969, Jack moved to California to become operator’s manager in the communications field. Jack and Dorothy retired to Slab Creek from 1994-2011, then to Bend, OR. where he passed away at home surrounded by family.

Jack was a past member of the Tillamook Guerillas, Devils Lake Fire Department, Oceanlake Elks Lodge, and the Kiwanis Club of Coronado, CA. Jake was active in youth sports in Lincoln City and Nestucca.

He enjoyed golf and short trips to Mexico with Dorothy. He had a larger than life personality who made friends easily and will be unforgettable to many. He will be missed.

Jack was preceded in death by wife Dorothy in 2012. And, daughter Debbie in 1999. He is survived by daughter Diana Sutton of Bend, sons James of Lincoln City and John of Neskowin, 10 grandkids and 12 great grandchildren.
