It was agreed by the developers when phase three of the VRD subdivision begun, that no work would be occurring on Saturdays, Sundays or legal holidays. Last Monday was Memorial Day. Guess why you are reading my letter?

Neither the developers or the city cares one little bit about the people who live near this eyesore and have to put up with the last 14 years of constant construction. Recently, it was agreed that we could and should call the police department if… if? I mean when this agreement is violated.

So on Memorial day, there was construction work occurring and when we called the police, guess what happened? Yep. Nothing.

We have lost respect for the police department, in their coddling of this aloof subdivision. This VRD zoned area has only increased our stress level, decreased our security and lowered our property values. No thought was ever given to the impact, the negative impact this ‘we’ll make the city better’ collection of 40 foot high houses crammed in an area better suited for half of what is been built.

Our roads are not suited for the increased usage, and the list of negatives for our neighborhood is virtually endless, but I’m done… for now.
