Our emergency warming shelter opens on nights that are predicted 40 degrees or below. We have been up and running since Saturday, December 1 but nobody knows because it hasn't been printed in your paper.
We have worked very hard to cross all our t's and dot all our I's because our services are very much needed. As the battle was raging you printed two articles saying that we were closing down even though that was never in question. It was where the warming shelter was going to be not if there was going to be one.
Your paper has given the impression that Lincoln City will not have a warming shelter this winter which has caused some serious confusion with potential volunteers and people in need of shelter.
There are people out there freezing that need our shelter. Please print that our community warming shelter at Taft Hall is open through March 31 2019 whenever the temperature is predicted to be 40 or less.
This is a community service and you are the community paper, people count on you to report accurate reliable information. Please print the good things and not just the bad. Its really good PR to do so.
